Role: Quality Technician

Location: Knutsford, Parkgate Industrial Estate

Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am till 5pm. 40 hours per week (Office Based)

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Quality Technician to join our manufacturing team in Knutsford. This is an exciting time to join the fastest growing and most successful family-owned valve manufacturer in the UK.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Resolve material certification issues identified by the certificate checking team with Suppliers/Stockist/Test House/Mill in a timely manner. This could be missing, or incorrect, information and poor-quality copies.

  • Liaise with the Engineering and Quality departments for further guidance relating to certification queries.

  • Advise/assist suppliers on material certificates and specifications, providing training where necessary.

  • Conduct witness testing of products at test houses, ensuring that they comply with the relevant company and customer specific quality standards.

  • Identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of quality policies.

  • Conduct internal quality management system audits and product and process audits.

  • Support the receipt, recording, investigation and analysis of customer returned products (e.g. CAR's & 8D's).

  • Support the Supplier Development Engineer with the management of the supply chain, including performance review visits, supplier audits and raising and monitoring corrective action reports (CAR's) where required.

  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as procedures, work instructions, quality alerts and forms.

  • Investigate instances of product and process failure and conduct effective root cause analysis- implement robust corrective actions with proven problem-solving techniques such as 8D and 5Y.

What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of quality testing methods

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • GCSE min Grade 4 or equivalent in Maths and English

  • Experience in interpreting engineering material standards

  • Familiarity with relevant standards such as ISO 9001, API

  • Familiarity with quality methodologies

  • Reliability and a detail-oriented approach.

  • Be a pro-active team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Have good numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
