We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, values-led care provider seeking a talented Chef de Partie to join a busy kitchen team within a modern residential care setting in North London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate chef to work in a professional kitchen environment, preparing high-quality meals that have a direct impact on the wellbeing and quality of life of residents.
Previous experience within a care home or healthcare setting is not essential. We welcome applications from chefs currently working in hotels, restaurants, gastro pubs, contract catering, education, or other hospitality environments who are looking for greater stability, more sociable working hours, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through their work.
Full support will be provided to help you understand the specific nutritional and dietary requirements associated with catering in a care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality meals in line with menus and dietary requirements
Support the Head Chef and wider kitchen team in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard
Assist with catering for specialist dietary requirements, including allergies, diabetes, fortified diets, and texture-modified meals
Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
Assist with stock rotation and the safe storage of food products
Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately
Support with food preparation, service, and cleaning duties as required
Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an exceptional dining experience for residents
Qualifications
Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Professional Cookery preferred
City & Guilds Professional Catering qualification desirable
Food Safety Level 2 qualification preferred
Experience & Skills
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, Demi Chef de Partie, or similar role
Passion for producing high-quality food
Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
Ability to work effectively within a busy kitchen environment
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Organised and reliable with a strong attention to detail
Willingness to learn and develop within the role
