NPI Engineer
Location: Hartlepool, County Durham
Wolviston Management Services are supporting out amazing client, a leading UK manufacturer, to recruit NPI Engineers at all levels of experience. This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility.
This role will support the introduction of cutting-edge RF and microwave products into a high-precision manufacturing environment. You will play a key part in transitioning products from development and prototype stages through to full-scale production, ensuring robust, efficient and scalable processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) activities from prototype through to production release
- Coordinate pilot builds and production readiness reviews
- Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) improvements
- Develop and implement process flows, control plans, and supporting documentation
- Define tooling, fixturing and automation requirements
- Support early-stage production and manufacturing ramp-up
- Analyse manufacturing data to improve yield, quality, and efficiency
- Lead root cause investigations using structured methodologies (8D, DMAIC, FMEA)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality and operations teams
Technical Environment
- RF and microwave module manufacturing
- Electronics and semiconductor assembly
- High-reliability, precision manufacturing processes
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability analysis
- PFMEA and structured industrialisation processes
About You
- Degree or HND in Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience within high-precision manufacturing environments (e.g. electronics, automotive, or similar)
- Experience introducing new products into production environments
- Strong problem-solving capability using structured methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC or FMEA
- Knowledge of process validation, PFMEA and control plans
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Knowledge of SPC and data-driven manufacturing improvements
- Exposure to RF or semiconductor manufacturing
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 standards
