Job Description

Retail Productivity Analyst

Office Based UK Travel Required

Are you from a retail operations background with a strong understanding of in-store procedures and ways of working? Do you enjoy understanding how retail environments operate and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity?

We are supporting a well-established national organisation in the search for a Retail Productivity Analyst to join their collaborative and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with operational retail experience who understands store processes and enjoys working with data, procedures, and operational improvement.

While this is a primarily office-based position, the role will involve spending time within stores across the UK to observe operations, review procedures, and gain a full understanding of how in-store activities are carried out.

The Role

Working as part of a specialist team, you will support the review and measurement of retail store activities to help improve operational effectiveness and workforce planning. By understanding how store tasks are completed, you will contribute valuable insight that helps shape productivity and labour requirements across a national retail network.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, analyse operational processes, and provide clear recommendations and findings that support business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and understand retail store procedures and operational activities
  • Conduct store visits across the UK to observe processes and gather operational insight
  • Produce Labour Standards and calculate Basic Minute Values (BMVs) for defined processes and tasks
  • Analyse how tasks are completed and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand operational requirements and priorities
  • Produce accurate reporting, findings, and recommendations to support productivity and workforce planning
  • Support process reviews, operational audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Use work measurement skills / work study methodologies such as MTM2
  • Present insights and findings clearly to key stakeholders across the business

About You

This role would suit someone with a retail operational background who understands how stores function day-to-day and can confidently assess processes and procedures.

We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience in:

  • Retail operations, store management, assistant management, area support, or multi-site retail environments
  • Workforce planning, operational support, productivity, or process improvement
  • Reviewing procedures, store standards, or operational compliance

You will also bring:

  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • A naturally curious and problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numerical information
  • Good Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally, including occasional overnight stays

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team where you can make a real impact on retail operations. Offering strong long-term development and exposure to national store operations, this role is ideal for someone looking to take their operational retail experience into a broader, analytical position.
