Mechanical Maintenance Engineer City of London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading building services provider on a prestigious commercial contract in the City of London. This well-established organisation is known for investing in its employees through continuous training, professional development, and clear career progression pathways.

Based within a modern commercial office building, the successful candidate will join a small, dedicated on-site maintenance team. This is a Monday to Friday position, working 8:00am to 5:00pm, offering an excellent work-life balance with no call-out requirement.

The role will involve carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a variety of mechanical and building services systems, ensuring the site remains fully operational, safe, and compliant at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Maintain and service Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair pumps, bearings, and mechanical seals
  • Conduct maintenance on sprinkler systems
  • Perform water treatment duties, including tap temperature testing, dosing, and cooling tower inspections
  • Monitor and record water temperatures
  • Maintain chilled water systems
  • Undertake general plumbing repairs and maintenance
  • Assist with generator maintenance and testing
  • Maintain pressurisation units
  • Carry out basic Building Management System (BMS) operations and monitoring
Requirements
  • City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification
  • Apprenticeship-trained (desirable)
  • Previous experience within a building services maintenance environment
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Professional and proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Salary & Benefits
  • £48,000 £50,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm
  • No call-out rota
