Accountant (maternity cover)

My well-established client is looking for an experienced Accountant to join their market-leading company based in the Rochester area. This will initially be on a 15 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The role will be fully office based and expeirence working in the construction industry is essential.

Duties will include:

• Completing month-end duties
• Accruals & Prepayments
• Monthly VAT returns
• Year-end preparation, including Audit
• Bank reconciliations
• Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger duties
• CIS returns
• Payroll including processing Pensions, Wages and Journals and Yearly P11D Submission

The successful candidate will:

• Have worked in a similar role previously
• Understand Accruals & Prepayments
• Have previous experience with P11D s
• Possess advanced Excel skills
• Have experience using Sage
