Behaviour Specialist - SEMH Schools (Skelmersdale) Location: Skelmersdale, Lancashire

About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Behaviour Specialist to support pupils within SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools in Skelmersdale. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
Working closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and external professionals, you will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver targeted behaviour support strategies for students with SEMH needs
- Provide 1:1 and small group interventions
- Support the implementation of behaviour management plans and risk assessments
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Monitor, record, and report on pupil behaviour and progress
- Support de-escalation and promote emotional regulation techniques
About YouWe are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs
- Calm, resilient, and patient under pressure
- Confident in behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners to achieve their potential
Requirements- Previous experience in SEMH, SEN, or alternative provision settings (preferred)
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, youth work, or similar (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
