Hydraulic Fitter
Salary: 31,000 - 35,000 p/a DoE
Location: Heckmondwike
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 2:30pm Friday - 38 hours per week
Travel required to customer sites as part of the role 10% - occasionally overseas

Known for delivering high-quality engineered products and bespoke solutions to customers across the UK and internationally, they seek to reinforce their team with a skilled Hydraulic Fitter.
As a Hydraulic Fitter, you will play a key role in the in-house assembly & testing, on-site installation & commissioning, and service & maintenance.
Key Requirements
- Assembling hydraulic systems.
- Carrying out testing to ensure equipment meets design specification and quality standards.
- Complete quality inspections and checks during assembly and testing phases.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing and prepare equipment for shipment.
- Install systems at customer sites in accordance with technical drawings and procedures.
- Fit and align mechanical components including motors, gearboxes, bearings and associated mechanical assemblies.
- Carry out flushing, testing, commissioning and verification of systems.
- Support customer handovers and provide technical assistance during commissioning.
- Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose faults and undertake troubleshooting on related assemblies.
- Perform replacements, repairs and system modifications as required.
- Accurately record assembly, testing, commissioning and servicing.
- Produce reports detailing findings, work completed and recommendations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement.
- Represent the company professionally away from site.
Skills and Experience
- Mechanical apprenticeship, Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering , or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with hydraulic systems in assembly, maintenance, installation or commissioning.
- Good understanding of hydraulic principles and mechanical engineering.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to interpret hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within engineering/industrial environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skill with a proactive and professional approach.
- Experience commissioning hydraulic systems is desirable.
- Experience working within sectors such as defence, renewable energy, infrastructure, heavy engineering or industrial manufacturing is highly desired
