Location: Hybrid Working

Salary: £26,000-£30,000 per annum (pro rata if part-time), depending on experience

Are you an organised and proactive Accounts & Administrative Assistant looking for a varied role within a friendly and growing business?

We're looking for someone to support our Finance Manager across a range of finance, HR and administrative responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to play a key role in keeping the business running smoothly.

The Role

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for a broad range of duties including:

Finance Responsibilities

  • Raising customer invoices and issuing customer statements.
  • Managing the purchase ledger, including filing and posting invoices and receipts.
  • Reconciling supplier accounts.
  • Completing daily bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting with cashflow forecasting.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Assisting with VAT returns.
  • Supporting payroll.
  • Carrying out general bookkeeping tasks.

HR Administration

  • Maintaining employee records and HR systems.
  • Preparing employment contracts and other HR documentation.
  • Keeping company policies and the employee handbook up to date.

General Administration

  • Supporting the planning and organisation of client and staff events.
  • Ordering office supplies and equipment.
  • Maintaining office records.
  • Providing general administrative support across the business.

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys working with both numbers and people.

You'll ideally have:

  • At least one year's experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role.
  • Experience using Xero and/or QuickBooks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach.
  • Availability to work on Fridays is essential. For part-time applicants, the remaining working days can be agreed with the successful candidate.

A degree is not required-practical experience and the right attitude are far more important.

What We Offer

  • Hybrid working.
  • Part-time or full-time opportunities.
  • Salary of £26,000-£30,000 per annum (pro rata if part-time), depending on experience.
  • A varied role with opportunities to develop your skills.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • The opportunity to become a valued member of a growing business.

If you're looking for a varied role where no two days are the same and you can make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
