Are you a multi-skilled engineer with strong CCTV, intruder and access control experience, alongside a good working knowledge of fire alarm systems?
Our client is expanding its field engineering team and is looking for an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to support a varied portfolio of commercial, education and infrastructure sites. You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, small works and occasional installation activity across a broad range of security and fire systems.
This role is particularly well suited to an engineer with strong IP CCTV and electronic security experience who is also confident servicing and repairing fire alarm systems. You will work independently across your allocated area, managing your schedule, communicating with customers and ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and to a high technical standard.
Job DescriptionDuties will include:
Servicing, maintaining and repairing CCTV, intruder alarm, access control and door entry systems
Diagnosing faults on IP and analogue CCTV networks, control panels, devices, circuits and associated equipment
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on fire alarm systems
Completing small works, system alterations and minor installation projects
Attending customer sites covering Northern Home Counties
Providing clear technical updates and recommendations to customers and site contacts
Completing service reports, job documentation, risk assessments and method statements
Ensuring van stock, tools and test equipment are maintained and accurately recorded
Supporting occasional associated systems work, including gates, barriers, disabled refuge or nurse call systems
Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota, currently approximately one week in twelve
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
Previous experience as a Fire & Security Engineer, Security Systems Engineer or similarly multi-skilled field engineer
Strong practical knowledge of IP CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and door entry systems
Experience servicing, fault-finding and repairing fire alarm systems
The ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults independently
Experience working with systems such as Hikvision, Dahua, Galaxy, Texecom, Paxton, PAC, Videx, Gent, Advanced, Notifier, Morley or C-tec
A good understanding of health and safety procedures and safe site working practices
Strong customer service and communication skills
The ability to manage a mobile workload across multiple sites
A full UK driving licence
Experience with gates, barriers, disabled refuge systems or nurse call systems would be beneficial, although additional training can be provided.
Salary and BenefitsThe role offers a basic rate of £(phone number removed) per annum, equivalent to approximately £21 £24 per hour.
Travel is paid after the first 30 minutes each way, with overtime paid at enhanced rates:
Evenings paid at 1.5 times the standard rate
Late shifts and weekends paid at double time
Additional allowance for participation in the call-out rota
