The Opportunity
We're recruiting for an experienced Children's Registered Manager to lead a well-established 5-bed Learning Disabilities (LD) children's home in Lancaster.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's leading specialist childcare providers, delivering high-quality residential care for children and young people aged 8-18 with learning disabilities and complex needs.
You'll have full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership, regulatory compliance and operational performance of the home, ensuring exceptional outcomes for every young person while developing and supporting a committed staff team.

The Role
As the Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the home, ensuring children receive outstanding care in a safe, nurturing and structured environment.
You'll oversee all operational, safeguarding and compliance responsibilities whilst creating a positive culture for both young people and staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing the day-to-day operation of the home
Maintaining full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards
Leading, mentoring and developing the staff team
Recruiting, inducting and retaining high-quality staff
Developing individualised care plans for each young person
Promoting excellent safeguarding practice
Managing budgets and ensuring commercial performance
Working collaboratively with families, local authorities and multidisciplinary professionals
Leading care planning meetings and statutory reviews
Managing complaints and safeguarding concerns appropriately
Driving continuous improvement across the service
Working towards achieving and maintaining an Ofsted Good or Outstanding rating
About You
We're looking for an experienced children's residential leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
You'll have:
Previous experience as a Registered Manager or experienced Deputy Manager ready to register
Minimum 2 years' experience within children's residential care
At least 1 year in a management or supervisory role within the last 5 years
Level 3 or Level 4 in Children's Residential Care (essential)
Level 5 Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (preferred) or willingness to enrol within 6 months
Strong understanding of:
Children's Homes Regulations
Quality Standards
SCCIF Framework
Safeguarding legislation
Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities and complex needs
Strong leadership and people management skills
Good financial and budget management ability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full UK Driving Licence
