Residential Childcare Worker - Sevenoaks

PAYE 13.00 - 14.00 per hour

Shift patterns are 7am - 3pm / 3pm - 9pm / 9pm - 7am

Brook Street Social Care specialise in providing a range of work opportunities for both full time, and part time professionals that support or provide care to vulnerable people.

At present we are working with a beautiful, fully renovated children's home in Sevenoaks, who are seeking full time Children residential workers. The home provides care for children who have learning disabilities. The home is purpose built, with a range of facilities to keep the children engaged, and active.

We are looking for candidates who have experience working directly with children who have learning disabilities or autism, and as such, require 24 hour care and support. The children you will be working with are unique, and special little children who have the right to live a meaningful, and fulfilled life, and your role is to provide an environment that enables this.

This role is based within an Ofsted regulated home, and as such, successful candidates will need to have direct experience working with children who have additional needs.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the Care Planning children cared for
  • Maintaining children's records accurately and regularly
  • Undertaking key work responsibilities
  • Providing personal Care
  • Understanding of how to effectively safeguard children
  • Working knowledge of Ofsted
  • Caring for and supporting young people in the home, helping them develop, grow and lead happy fulfilled lives
  • Creating a homely, nurturing environment where young people can thrive
  • Organising activities, helping young people learn new skills, achieve their goals and have fun!

Experience and Qualifications for the Residential Support Worker

  • Must have at least 6 months experience working directly with children in the UK, within the last 3 years
  • Experience and understanding of safeguarding children
  • Understanding of learning disabilities and neurodivergent needs
  • Ideally have a recognised level 3 residential childcare qualification
  • Willingness to undertake personal care
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports
  • An enhanced DBS certificate will be required
