CNC Turner / Machinist
Medway, Kent
Salary up to 50,000 (depending on experience)
Monday-Friday 40 hours Flexible start times

Overtime available

An established and growing precision engineering business is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join its machining team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward thinking manufacturer working across a range of specialist industries.

This position sits at the heart of the machine shop, where you'll be involved in programming, setting and machining bespoke components to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture precision bespoke components for UK and international customers
  • Program, set and operate CNC turning machines in line with customer specifications and production schedules.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure all programmes and set ups are completed within allocated time frames.
  • Carry out first off inspections to confirm accuracy before full production runs.
  • Support the introduction of new projects into manufacturing.
  • Machine materials to exacting tolerances and high quality finishes.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues in collaboration with the team.
  • Support colleagues and other departments when required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support manufacturing operations.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Manual lathe turner experience and CNC machining skills
  • Experience working within precision/low-volume engineering environments
  • Confident reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
  • Ability to inspect components to a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and finish.
  • Able to work independently and use own initiative.
