What they are looking for Significant experience managing life safety systems in complex, high-risk or highly regulated environments (e.g. science, research, pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial). Strong knowledge of fire detection, fire suppression, emergency lighting, smoke control and gas detection systems. Experience covering the full lifecycle of life safety systems - from specification and installation through to operation and maintenance. Solid understanding of statutory compliance, engineering governance and safety management . Proven background in technical audits, inspections and compliance reviews. Excellent contractor and supplier management skills. Experience supporting engineering investigations and root cause analysis. Confident stakeholder engagement and communication at multiple levels. The successful candidate will be a Fire Protection Engineer with fire alarm and extinguisher maintenance, service and repair skills. You will undertake work throughout the Devon and Cornwall areas. The Role: You will operate as a field service engineer and you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance and inspection of fire extinguishers and alarm systems in the Devon & Cornwall areas. Duties will include; Repair and fault find fire suppression and fire alarm systems. Testing emergency lighting Replace failed and faulty devices. Replacing extinguishers and Fire Safely Ancillary products, emergency signage etc. Upselling and cross selling of Fire Safely Ancillary Products. Scheduling your own works daily/weekly. Candidate: You will be an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer ideally with some extinguisher experience. Preferably you will have BAFE certification however full training will be given. As a Fire Suppression Field Maintenance Engineer your duties will be: Performing all maintenance and repair work thoroughly, in a safe manner, and in accordance with all laid down service instructions. Ensuring system items removed from customer premises are labelled as necessary to identify the part and issue, and returned to Fireworks office. Ensuring that all necessary equipment and service kits to conduct the assigned work is on works van and for liaising with the office for additional supplies where necessary. Maintaining a professional relationship with customers and their staff and for being accountable for own conduct as a representative of the business Ensuring all paperwork, whether in hard copy or required to be completed via an issued tablet/iPad, in respect of each job is completed properly and is received by the Fireworks office in a timely manner and in good condition. Report all call-outs to the Office as soon as possible. Ensuring that all work equipment is maintained Observe all company QHSE policies, procedures and other instructions and ensure all concerns observed or reported are submitted to the QHSE Compliance department. The type of candidate they're looking for: Should be qualified to at least Level 3 and ideally hold 17th Edition. Good knowledge of water mist fire suppression systems and the wider fire prevention sector. Experience in similar field engineer roles. Demonstrates the technical competence and awareness required to pass manufacturer courses on the equipment to be maintained and repaired, or has relevant technical qualifications for work being performed. Ability to communicate directly with customers and maintain good relationships. Proficient in the use of mobile technologies. E.g.
