A leading UK infrastructure engineering and advisory business is expanding its Manchester / Liverpool team and is looking for a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of major engineering programmes. This isn't a role where you'll spend your days simply checking drawings and waiting for the next project to land. You'll be expected to think, lead, challenge and engineer working with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that work in the real world. Your role Lead mechanical engineering and design across complex projects Develop designs from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction Produce and review calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation Take technical ownership of mechanical packages Coordinate designs with electrical, civil, structural and wider engineering disciplines Work closely with clients, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers Attend design reviews, site meetings and technical workshops Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and technicians Support project planning, bids, proposals and business development Help develop engineering standards, processes and best practice What we're looking for You'll ideally bring: Significant mechanical engineering/design experience Experience within building services, infrastructure or multidisciplinary engineering Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and UK design standards Experience delivering technically complex projects Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Experience providing technical guidance to less experienced engineers CEng / IEng / working towards Chartership would be advantageous Experience with relevant mechanical design and modelling software Why consider it?
