Supplier relationship and performance management • Own day-to-day commercial relationships with freelance surveyors, assessors and relevant agencies, ensuring expectations, rates, availability and service requirements are understood. • Monitor supplier performance using project, scheduling and QA data, including reliability, productivity, quality, no-access behaviour, communication and cost. • Hold performance conversations where required and agree improvement actions, increased monitoring, restricted allocation or removal from the active panel where appropriate. • Work with the Technical & Quality Manager so that technical QA findings and competence information directly inform supplier-performance and allocation decisions. 4. Commercial and deployment efficiency • Manage supplier rates and commercial terms within agreed parameters, escalating material exceptions for approval. • Reduce avoidable travel, agency dependency and inefficient deployment by balancing geography, availability, competence, productivity and cost. • Set allocation principles and capacity priorities for the Operations Scheduler and Project Managers; the Scheduler remains responsible for day-to-day appointment execution. • Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality or delivery resilience. 5. Risk, reporting and improvement • Maintain contingency plans for regional shortages, specialist competence gaps, supplier failure and peak-demand periods. Report capacity, recruitment, supplier performance, commercial risks and improvement opportunities to the Head of Operations and relevant Project Managers. • Chair or lead regular resource and supplier-performance reviews, with clear actions and ownership. • Work with the IT Infrastructure & Systems Manager to improve visibility, automation and reporting of external-resource data. • Continuously improve network-management processes so the model can scale without adding unnecessary fixed overhead.
