We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded
Compliance Analyst to join a growing compliance function within a dynamic underwriting business. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional looking to develop broad exposure across a range of regulatory and compliance activities while supporting the business in maintaining a strong culture of governance, customer focus, and regulatory compliance.The role will suit an individual with experience in a generalist compliance position, including exposure to
conduct risk,
regulatory monitoring, and
complaints handling within the insurance or financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities- Support the day-to-day operation of the compliance framework across the business.
- Assist in the identification, assessment and monitoring of regulatory and compliance risks.
- Conduct compliance monitoring reviews and contribute to reporting on findings and recommendations.
- Support the management and oversight of conduct risk, helping to ensure fair customer outcomes are embedded throughout business processes.
- Review and analyse complaints data, identify trends and support root cause analysis and remediation activities.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess potential impacts on the business.
- Assist with policy and procedure reviews, ensuring documentation remains accurate and up to date.
- Support the delivery of compliance training and awareness initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across underwriting, operations and management teams to provide practical compliance advice and guidance.
- Assist with regulatory reporting, governance committee reporting and compliance management information (MI).
- Support internal audits, regulatory reviews and other assurance activities as required.
About You
- Previous experience within a compliance role in the insurance, underwriting, MGA or wider financial services sector.
- Good understanding of UK regulatory requirements and compliance principles.
- Experience supporting conduct risk frameworks and customer outcome initiatives.
- Exposure to complaints handling, complaints oversight or complaints analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify themes and emerging risks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements and expectations.
- Experience working within an underwriting, insurance or specialty insurance environment.
- Exposure to compliance monitoring programmes.
- Relevant compliance qualification (ICA or equivalent), or currently studying towards one.
