We are working with a fast-growing MGA for a
Compliance Manager role to work closely with the Head of Compliance. This role offers broad exposure across multiple compliance disciplines, making it ideal for someone looking to step into a wider, more influential position and take ownership of key regulatory initiatives.What you'll do:
- Ensure our compliance with all regulations applicable to the UK motor insurance distribution, with the key focus on the FCA requirements (including the IDD, SMCR, Financial Crime, Credit Broking)
- Act as a trusted business partner, providing prompt, clear and pragmatic compliance advice on strategic projects, new initiatives and day-to-day business queries
- Keep actions, evidence, records and deadlines accurate, complete and well organised, ensuring that compliance deliverables are completed to a consistently high standard
- Coordinate and lead on the key deliverables, including regulatory returns (eg. RMAR), Compliance Monitoring Plan, Board and committee packs, compliance policies and procedures
- Conduct horizon scanning - monitor and assess regulatory and legislative developments and help the business turn them into concrete and timely actions
- Build strong alliances and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the company to promote business engagement in risk and compliance matters
- Work closely with the UK Country Manager, the Group Compliance Team, the UK DPO as well as with the senior stakeholders across the whole UK business.
What we're looking for:
- Around 5 years of exposure in compliance in the UK insurance (including law firms) and / or insurance distribution market
- In depth working knowledge of the regulatory requirements relevant to the insurance distribution activities in the UK, in particular, the FCA requirements
- A sharp and curious mindset, with the ability to understand complex issues quickly and identify what really matters.
- A commercially minded approach and the ability to balance regulatory requirements, customer outcomes and business objectives.
- Open minded keen to help the company reach its objectives
- Strong organisational skills and a structured, disciplined approach to managing priorities, records, actions and deadlines.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the confidence to move between different topics and respond effectively as business priorities evolve.
- The ability to work in a dynamic and complex environment, manage competing deadlines and remain composed and objective under pressure.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to explain technical requirements in clear, straightforward language
- Ability to prioritise work, meet challenging deadlines and work in a dynamic and complex environment while remaining composed and objective under pressure
Nice-to have:
- Law degree is a plus
- Experience in regulatory oversight of insurance intermediaries.
