Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: £13.25 per hour (in the region of £28,000 upon successful temp completion)
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 0800 to 1700, Monday to Friday

Vanta Staffing are currently recruiting for a Sales Administrator to join a successful and growing business based in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, proactive and customer-focused individual to join the team on a temp-to-perm basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

The Role

As a Sales Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the sales and branch operations, ensuring customers receive a professional and efficient service. Working closely with the General Manager and Sales Supervisor, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative and customer service duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries via telephone, email and in person in a professional and timely manner.
• Process customer orders, quotations, enquiries and returns accurately and efficiently.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively, escalating where appropriate.
• Provide administrative support to the General Manager and wider branch team.
• Assist with data entry, reporting and document management.
• Support the branch with statutory, regulatory, Health & Safety and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure information is kept up to date.
• Assist with general sales and administrative duties as required by the General Manager and Sales Supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the branch.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and customer-focused, with a proactive approach to their work.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience within sales administration, office administration, customer service or a similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A proactive approach and the ability to use your own initiative.
• Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment.
• A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude.
• A genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service.
