Pay: Around 14.00 per hour, plus shift allowance

The Role
Shillito Group is hiring an experienced Fettler on behalf of an established manufacturing business in Sheffield.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in heavy engineering or manufacturing who is confident using hand and power tools.
You will be working as part of a busy production team, fettling and finishing large metal components to make sure they meet the required quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.
What You'll Be Doing
- Fettling, grinding and finishing metal components
- Removing excess material, sharp edges, weld spatter and imperfections
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Checking finished components meet the required quality standards
- Working from drawings, specifications and job instructions when required
- Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised
- Following all site health and safety procedures
- Working closely with the wider production team
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Fettler, Grinder, Finisher or in a similar role
- Experience working with metal components
- A background in manufacturing or heavy engineering
- Confidence using hand and power tools
- Good practical and mechanical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- A good understanding of workplace health and safety
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- The reliability and flexibility to work continental shifts
Experience within steel, foundry, forging or heavy engineering would be an advantage.
