Our client is a leading engineering organisation specialising in climate, HVAC and sustainable technical solutions for commercial and industrial customers.
With a strong focus on technical excellence, customer service and innovative engineering solutions, the organisation is continuing to grow its field service operation and is looking for an experienced Service Technician to join the team.

Your Role & Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Attend customer sites across the UK to diagnose, service and repair HVAC and associated equipment.
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), breakdown, warranty, hire and commissioning work.
  • Diagnose system faults using specialist diagnostic software, technical documentation, engineering specifications and hand tools.
  • Identify technical issues and implement effective solutions to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers, acting as a trusted technical point of contact.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding service requirements, progress, technical issues and completed works.
  • Work closely with the Service Desk, Sales and Operations teams to ensure customers receive a consistent and efficient service.
  • Provide regular updates to supervisors, Regional Service Managers and Senior Technicians.
  • Complete accurate service documentation and reports following customer visits and completed work.
  • Produce reports relating to completed and invoiced work orders where required.
  • Use modern service applications, diagnostic technology and Microsoft Office to support day-to-day activities.
  • Follow engineering drawings, technical specifications and relevant service procedures when carrying out repairs and maintenance.
  • Support the identification of recurring technical issues and contribute to improvements in service delivery and operational processes.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and customer service at all times.
  • Participate in a planned standby and call-out rota, including weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

What You Will Need to Apply:

  • Proven experience working in a service, field-based technician or similar engineering role.
  • Relevant technical qualifications and appropriate F-Gas certification.
  • Strong technical fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
  • Experience carrying out maintenance, servicing, repairs or commissioning of technical equipment.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing or engineering environment would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of customer service principles and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, professional and solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Confident using diagnostic software, mobile applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in scheduled standby and call-out arrangements.
  • Full UK driving licence, with a company vehicle provided for the role.
  • The right to work in the UK.
