A welcoming and highly regarded two-form entry primary school in Stockport are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to support its reception class. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team and make a genuine difference during a crucial stage of children's education.

The Role

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with daily teaching and learning activities across the EYFS Reception curriculum.
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with EAL and SEN.
  • Encouraging children's communication, language development, social skills and independence.
  • Supporting phonics, early literacy, numeracy and play-based learning.
  • Helping create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supporting positive behaviour, emotional development and pupil engagement.
  • Working cohesively with the class teacher and wider school team.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience working in a primary school, nursery or early years setting.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS or Reception curriculum.
  • Experience supporting children with EAL and/or SEN.
  • A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for early childhood development.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is highly desirable due to the immediate start, as the school is looking to trial candidates as soon as possible.

What the School Offers

  • A welcoming, community-focused primary school.
  • A supportive teaching team.
  • Excellent outdoor learning and play facilities.
  • A rewarding, long-term opportunity to develop your education career.
