Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Engineering & Safety - Deliver business plan targets with a focus on Quality, Cost, Delivery, Development, Safety, and Morale (QCDDSSM).
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Design and develop manufacturing systems, processes, jigs, and fixtures.
- Produce detailed designs using SolidWorks (3D) and DraftSight (2D).
- Ensure compliance with industry directives, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Manage and improve Health & Safety systems, including COSHH controls.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), PPAP, and safe launch activities.
- Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with global suppliers to optimise manufacturability and value.
- Utilise APQP tools such as PFMEA, DVP&R, and Control Plans.
- Maintain manufacturing routers within Oracle ERP.
- Assist with prototyping and develop 3D printing capabilities.
- Promote Lean tools such as PDCA, Poka-Yoke, and 5S.
- Support audits, capital projects, and change management processes.
Maintenance & Facilities Engineering - Ensure all plant and equipment remain safe, reliable, and operational.
- Respond to breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance and TPM schedules.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and parts inventories.
- Assist in managing contractors and suppliers.
- Support facility operations, including security, heating, and compressed air systems.
- Contribute to KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train operators in routine maintenance procedures.
- Provide hands-on support to production, including equipment setup.
Essential Requirements Qualifications - HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Production, or a related Engineering discipline.
Experience - Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with safety-critical products is desirable.
Technical Skills - Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
