  • Implement effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
  • Support pupils' emotional regulation and engagement with learning
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs and external professionals
  • Foster a safe, nurturing and structured classroom environment

The Ideal SEN Teacher (AP Setting)

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Experience working with complex SEN (SLD, PMLD, ASC or SEMH)
  • Strong behaviour management and resilience
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Confidence supporting personal care and working alongside healthcare professionals
  • Understanding of sensory integration and communication strategies
  • ECTs with relevant SEN placements are encouraged to apply
