Renewables Design Engineer/Surveyor

My client is a rapidly growing Renewable Energy company and they arelooking for a skilled, curious, and customer-focused Surveyor/designer to join their Cambridge team. You'll become part of a multidisciplinary team shaping the future of sustainable homes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Survey homes for air source & ground source heat pumps, solar PV, batteries, and EV chargers
• Conduct site visits, plan-based assessments, and remote surveys
• Identify installation challenges and design practical solutions
• Map cable routes and system layouts
• Advise customers on optimal equipment placement
• Capture key data and site imagery
• Clearly explain systems and benefits to customers
• Ensure accurate, timely completion of survey documentation
• Collaborate with installation teams and broaden your technical expertise

What You Bring

Essential:

• Full UK driving licence
• GCSEs (or equivalent) A-C
• Strong customer service skills
• Experience with Solar PV design using Open Solar & Easy PV
• Experience with Heat Pump design using H2X
• Extensive renewable industry experience
• Ability to manage a customer relationship to the point of operational handover
• Excel at creating new business opportunities with homeowners, architects & developers
• Works well under pressure to achieve sales targets
• Punctual & smart appearance

Bonus Points For:

• Domestic Energy Assessor qualification
• Experience in renewable energy systems
• Solar PV & battery storage knowledge
• Building Services Engineering Degree
