HSE Manager

An established manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety, hygiene and environmental compliance at a large operational site in Rotherham.

The Role

• Full responsibility for site based health, safety, hygiene and environmental management
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant UK legislation, regulations and best practice
• Driving continuous improvement in safety culture and environmental performance
• Acting as the principal HSE lead for audits, regulators and external stakeholders
• Managing and developing onsite HSE systems, policies and procedures
• Providing leadership, training and guidance across all levels of the business
• Managing investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses
• Producing regular site level HSE and environmental performance reports
• Maintaining ISO 14001 accreditation and supporting internal and external audits

Key Responsibilities

• Lead risk assessments, COSHH, SSOW and permits to work
• Partner with production and engineering teams on equipment, machinery and process risk
• Chair and lead monthly HSE meetings and action plans
• Manage HSE induction and ongoing training programmes
• Oversee waste management, recycling programmes and environmental compliance
• Support carbon footprint and sustainability reporting through KPIs
• Manage documentation, certifications and statutory records

Ideal Candidate

• Proven HSE management experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong working knowledge of UK HSE and environmental legislation
• NEBOSH and IOSH qualified
• Experience supporting ISO 14001 and environmental management systems
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence across all levels
• Proactive, organised, and values driven
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel when required
