Job Title: Fitter / Welder (Container Repairs)

Salary: £40000 - £45000 + 1.5x Overtime
Role Type: Permanent; Monday Friday earlies, Saturday morning overtime

The Role and About You:
This is a practical role where you ll be carrying out fitting and welding repairs on ISO containers used within the shipping and logistics sector. It s ideal for someone who enjoys varied, hands-on work and wants to keep developing their skills in a supportive environment.
You don t need formal qualifications, whilst desirable experience and the right attitude are what matter. If you ve done welding, fabrication or general fitting work and you re keen to learn, we want to hear from you.
You ll be part of a team responsible for bringing containers back up to standard, whether that s structural repairs, flooring replacements or general refurbishment work. It s a busy environment with a good team culture and plenty of opportunity to get stuck in and improve your skillset.
With a strong basic salary, paid breaks and regular overtime at enhanced rates, this is a role that offers both stability and earning potential.
Key responsibilities:
Fabrication welding, straightening and repair of ISO containers.
Replacing and repairing container sections and components.
General fitting work including patches, insulation, door gear, seals, drains and ventilation.
Replacement and sectioning of plywood flooring.
Painting and finishing of completed repairs.
General labouring duties linked to container maintenance.
Cleaning and preparing containers to required standards.
Inspecting units for higher grade specifications (food grade, etc.).
Learning and using internal coding systems for damaged units.
Supporting a positive, team-focused working environment.
About you:
Previous experience in welding, fabrication, fitting or container repairs.
No formal qualifications required, whilst desirable hands-on experience is key.
Good attitude towards health & safety.
Able to work in a busy, sometimes fast-paced environment.
Comfortable following instructions and working from task lists.
Basic IT skills (using tablets/phones for job updates).
Good communication skills when working with team members and customers.
UK driving licence preferred but not essential.
