Job Description

An established health and social care provider is seeking an experienced Employment Relations Advisor to deliver hands-on, day-to-day ER support across a busy, multi-site environment. You'll take ownership of complex casework, provide confident, legally-sound guidance to managers, and play a key role in strengthening HR practice during a period of high operational demand.

This is a fully on-site role, in South London, and will run for an initial 2 months. There will be lots of opportunity for extensions/permanent roles.

Applicants must be immediately available to start a new role.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the escalation point for ER issues, offering clear, pragmatic advice to managers, senior leaders and staff
  • Managing a varied caseload including disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, performance management and appeals
  • Running investigations end-to-end, conducting formal hearings and producing outcome letters aligned to policy and employment law
  • Supporting policy and process reviews, DSAR responses and preparation for upcoming legislative changes (including the Employment Rights Bill 2025)
  • Leading on TUPE and redundancy processes with strong documentation and risk management
  • Advising on maternity, paternity, parental leave, flexible working and changes to terms and conditions
  • Working with Occupational Health and internal stakeholders to progress complex sickness and capability cases
  • Maintaining accurate HR systems and producing MI to support decision-making
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across HR operations and ER practice

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing high-volume, complex ER cases in a fast-paced environment (health & social care desirable)
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and current case law
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) with at least three years' dedicated ER experience
  • Confident handling sensitive investigations, formal hearings and high-risk cases
  • Skilled in HR systems, Word (including mail merge), Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and see cases through to resolution
  • Adaptable, collaborative and comfortable working fully on-site
