We are currently recruiting an Enhanced Technician / Senior Operator / Assistant Shift Team Leader /SAP to join the operations department of a large Energy from Waste plant in Kent. The Enhanced Technician will need an adaptable approach and will be responsible for supervising the shift teams ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant. The Enhanced Technician will be required, on occasions, to step up to the full Shift Manager role to cover for periods of sickness and holidays. You must have a full manual driver's licence to apply for this role. A fully expensed company van is provided (you can use it for personal use). You will be required to drive to multiple sites per day, to attend field service calls on the IT and EPOS equipment in the client's customer's stores. Training on EPOS hardware will be given. You must be flexible to do this role, willing to work weekends and an overnight emergency call out rota. The role requires work 5 days out of 7, on a 4 week rotation 1 weekend on 1 off, 1 week on call on call, next weekend off. Standard hours 0900 - 17:30, overtime is paid outside of this. Package of £31200 + Van + overtime; made up of a Basic salary of £27300 and shift / rotation on call payments of around £3900 per annum. You will be the On-Call Engineer, currently 1 week in 4, where you work 20:00 - Midnight 4 standard hours per day + emergency on call Monday to Saturday (all 6 days) then On call from 00:00 - 08:00 (on the Sunday, there is no scheduled hours, just on call from 20:00 - 08:00). What You ll Be Doing You ll be at the heart of site operations, supporting both planned and reactive infrastructure maintenance, including: Carrying out general maintenance and repairs across site infrastructure and facilities Supporting Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities for building systems and services Responding promptly to reactive maintenance issues to minimise downtime Maintaining buildings, plant, utilities, and external areas to a high standard Monitoring site services and infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient operation Conducting regular safety inspections, identifying hazards, and escalating issues where required What We re Looking For Experience in a hands-on engineering, facilities, or infrastructure maintenance role A solid understanding of health & safety regulations and best practices A practical, solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team Physically capable of carrying out manual tasks (lifting, bending, etc.) If you re a reliable and proactive individual who takes pride in delivering high standards and enjoys getting stuck in, get in contact with Charlie at Orion .
