Working Hours: Rotating dayshift, Mon-Fri, 6am-2pm & Mon-Fri, 2pm-10pm

Payrate: £14.07 per hour

Contract type: Full time, perm (paid monthly)

We're looking for a Machine Operator who can bring attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive mindset to our production team. This role is key to ensuring our wrapping machinery operates at peak performance while maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and safety.

You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, take ownership of your work, and are motivated to identify improvements. As part of our Total Productive Maintenance initiative, you'll play a vital role in reducing downtime and driving operational efficiency.

Your Role in Creating Quality Bakes

  • Operate high-speed wrapping machines and checkweighers to ensure consistent and efficient production flow.
  • Work collaboratively within a team of up to 40 colleagues per shift to meet production targets.
  • Complete daily production documentation accurately, including product codes and quality records.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping through "clean as you go" practices.
  • Follow and uphold all quality procedures to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, reporting any risks or issues promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to Total Productive Maintenance activities
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new team members once established in the role.

The Key Ingredients

  • Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining product quality.
  • Ability to follow hygiene, safety, and operational procedures consistently.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently.
  • Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willingness to learn, develop, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience operating wrapping machinery is advantageous (full training provided).
