An established professional services business is seeking an experienced and hands-on Accountant to provide additional support during a busy finance period, with a particular focus on audit preparation, reconciliations and wider finance operations.
This is a broad and varied role suited to somebody who can quickly adapt to a new environment, work independently and support multiple finance priorities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Support preparation for the external audit process
- Coordinate audit requests and supporting documentation
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Assist with month-end close activities
- Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments
- Support financial controls and process documentation
- Assist with reporting and ad hoc financial analysis
- Work closely with stakeholders across the business
- Support ongoing finance improvement projects
Candidate Profile
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or strong QBE background
- Previous experience supporting year-end audit activity
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Strong Excel capability including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP and data analysis
- Hands-on and proactive approach
- Able to work independently and quickly understand processes
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience within professional services environments beneficial
