JOB TITLE: Graduate Legal Assistant

LOCATION: Taunton

SALARY: 25,000 - 27,000 PA DOE

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are delighted to be partnering with a friendly, well-established law firm in Taunton who are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career within the legal sector, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a supportive environment that encourages development and progression. This role will begin on a temporary basis, with strong potential to become permanent for the right individual.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supporting the management of case files, including opening new matters and preparing documentation packs
• Assisting with the drafting of legal documents such as statements of case, legal aid applications, and cost applications
• Reviewing case materials including disclosure and witness statements, and preparing summaries for fee earners
• Attending hearings, client meetings, and conferences, taking clear and accurate notes
• Providing day-to-day administrative and team support, working closely with colleagues across the department

• Confident communication skills with a professional telephone manner
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
