Credit Controller

We are recruiting on behalf of a business in Blaydon for a Credit Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and driven individual to take ownership of the credit control function within a busy, fast-paced environment. The role is ideal for someone who can hit the ground running, manage high volumes of transactions, and maintain accuracy and efficiency in a demanding workload.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Full ownership of the sales ledger, monitoring customer accounts, and maintaining accurate records.
- Chasing outstanding debt and managing credit control processes.
- Resolving customer invoice queries professionally and efficiently.
- Allocating customer payments and reconciling accounts.
- Processing supplier invoices and ensuring correct authorisation as part of supporting the purchase ledger.
- Preparing supplier payment runs and reconciling supplier statements.
- Assisting with month-end close activities, supporting bank reconciliations, and providing ad-hoc finance support and analysis as required.
- Supporting audits and financial reporting when needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller, particularly in handling high-volume transactions.
- Strong organisational skills and resilience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintain professionalism.
- Proficiency in using financial systems, preferably Sage 200.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
