Quality Engineer - Major Civil Engineering Project - Didcot

As a Quality Engineer, you will be joining a well-established contractor with a strong reputation within the civil engineering sector. What you will be doing
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving project quality standards across site operations. You will be responsible for ensuring all works are delivered in line with industry regulations, client requirements and company procedures.
You will be doing the following:
Implementing the QA/QC management system on site
Coordinating quality inspections with subcontractors and vendors
Managing and coordinating non-destructive testing activities
Liaising with client representatives regarding all quality matters
Distributing QA/QC documentation to subcontractors
Ensuring site activities comply with applicable codes and standards
Participating in internal and external quality audits
Managing non-conformance reports and overseeing remedial actions
Monitoring implementation of the approved site Quality Control Plan
Coordinating technical submittals and approvals with the client
Supporting the construction management team on all quality-related matters
Chairing QA/QC meetings with subcontractor quality personnel
Developing inspection and testing programmes
Ensuring all site quality documentation is accurate and up to date
Supporting the successful handover of as-built quality documentation to the client
What my client is looking for
To be considered for this Quality Engineer role, you should have:
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
Previous experience in a quality-focused role within civil engineering or construction
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant quality standards
Experience carrying out internal and external audits
Good understanding of construction methods, materials and regulations
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems/tools
It would also be beneficial if you have:
Recognised Quality Management qualifications
Membership of a relevant professional body
Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
