Payroll Associate
Location: Taunton (Hybrid working available)
Salary: 28,000 - 32,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a friendly and supportive accountancy practice based in Taunton. This is a permanent position offering hybrid working once fully trained, with 3 days per week in the office.
Working as part of a close-knit team of two and reporting into the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality payroll service across a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing a portfolio of client payrolls from start to finish
- Managing payrolls of varying sizes, from small businesses to larger organisations with several hundred employees
- Handling both weekly and monthly payroll schedules
- Ensuring payrolls are accurate and compliant with current legislation
- Processing starters, leavers, and statutory payments
- Dealing with client queries and providing excellent customer service
- Working collaboratively within the payroll team and supporting the Payroll Manager where required
- Using Sage payroll software on a daily basis
About You
- Previous payroll experience, ideally within a practice or bureau environment
- Experience managing multiple payrolls and deadlines
- Confident using Sage payroll software
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
