The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and challenging Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Inspiring pupils to develop strong mathematical understanding, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Using a range of teaching strategies to support, challenge, and stretch learners of all abilities.
  • Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, providing high-quality feedback to maximise achievement.
  • Contributing to the development of an innovative and enriching Mathematics curriculum.
  • Supporting pupils in preparation for public examinations and university pathways where appropriate.
  • Promoting high standards of behaviour, effort, and academic achievement.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, enrichment programmes, and pastoral responsibilities.
  • Upholding the school's commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and academic excellence.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or possess an appropriate academic qualification suitable for teaching Mathematics.
  • Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Mathematics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to inspire, challenge, and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Have experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level, including GCSE and ideally A-Level.
  • Be committed to maintaining high academic standards and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Show a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community.
