Role Purpose
Hendon Prep is seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school. This is a varied and rewarding role working with children from Preschool through to Year 6.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Support pupils within lessons to access learning and make progress
- Reinforce teaching delivered by the class teacher
- Promote pupils' confidence, independence and positive attitudes to learning
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt provision as required
- Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
The Successful Candidate will bring:
Qualifications
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics - essential
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification - desirable
- SEND-related training - desirable
Experience
- Experience of working with primary-aged children (EYFS and/or KS1/KS2) - essential
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND - desirable
- Experience in a school or educational setting (mainstream or specialist) - desirable
Knowledge and Skills
- Sound understanding of the primary curriculum
- Ability to support pupils with a range of learning needs
- Ability to promote independence and engagement in learning
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
