An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD Design Draughtsman to join a well-established engineering business.

Working across a variety of projects within sectors including food, pharmaceutical, warehousing and automotive, you'll become part of a highly skilled engineering team delivering innovative solutions for customers throughout the UK and internationally.

The Role As a CAD Design Draughtsman, you'll provide mechanical design and detailing support across a range of automation projects, ensuring high-quality engineering drawings are delivered on time and to specification.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Producing detailed mechanical designs and drawings using Autodesk Inventor, Vault and AutoCAD
  • Supporting project delivery within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Conducting technical surveys at customer sites
  • Participating in design reviews and concept development sessions
  • Assisting with design risk assessments to ensure compliance with current engineering standards
  • Providing technical support to Sales, Projects and Manufacturing teams
  • Liaising directly with customers and suppliers
  • Supporting project engineering activities where required
About You To be successful in this role, you'll have:
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor, Vault and AutoCAD
  • Experience producing detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, automation, food, pharmaceutical, warehousing or automotive industries
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team
  • Full UK Driving Licence
