This role is ideal for a skilled operative with a strong core background in Carpentry or Plumbing who thrives in a varied maintenance environment. • Planned Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks and reactive repairs efficiently.

  • Emergency Response: Swiftly respond to and resolve emergency maintenance situations safely and effectively.

  • Client & Team Interaction: Keep building users, clients, and resource controllers updated on job progress, delivering a polite, professional, and courteous service at all times.

  • Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to Health & Safety guidelines using RAMS, PPE, and proper procedures. Assist management with COSHH inventories and risk assessments when required.

  • Documentation & Asset Care: Maintain precise digital records of all works (including photographic evidence), while keeping your company vehicle, tools, plant, and equipment clean, safe, and operational.

  • Flexible Coverage: Collaborate with fellow technicians and participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota as business needs dictate.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications & Essentials

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry or Plumbing (or equivalent trade qualification) - Essential

  • Multi-Skilled Capability: Demonstrated ability to perform at least two secondary maintenance trades (e.g., decorating, tiling, basic plastering/masonry) to a high standard.

  • Full UK Driving Licence - Essential

  • Active CSCS Card, PASMA, or IPAF certificates are highly desirable.

  • Note: Passing a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required prior to starting the role.

Experience & Skills

  • 2-5 years of experience within a Property Maintenance or Facilities Management environment.

  • Strong Communication: Comfortable using smartphones/PDAs to log work and communicate clearly with supervisors, resource controllers, and tenants.

  • Self-Motivated & Organised: Ability to prioritize your workload, problem-solve on the go, and determine sensible, proportionate repair solutions.

  • Safety-First Mindset: A practical and proactive approach to site safety for yourself, colleagues, and members of the public.
