Legal Cashier - Tunbridge Wells
Salary: 40,000 per annum Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday Hybrid: 60% office / 40% home-based
Our client, a reputable firm in Tunbridge Wells, is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong cashiering background.
What you will be doing:
Processing client account receipts, payments, CHAPS, and Faster Payments
Managing client-to-client and client-to-office transfers
Posting office account payments, journals, and receipts
Calculating and processing daily client-to-office transfers
Completing daily bank reconciliations
Monitoring shared finance inboxes and resolving queries efficiently
Acting as a gatekeeper for incoming funds, reviewing transactions for AML and source of funds requirements
Maintaining accurate audit trails and ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
Identifying and escalating potential compliance issues or financial risks
Supporting colleagues with technical guidance and sharing best practices
What you will bring:
Solid proven experience working as a Legal Cashier
Thorough understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules and their practical application
Experience processing client and office account transactions within a legal environment
Knowledge of online banking, CHAPS, and Faster Payments
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Confidence to work independently while supporting others
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
High levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
