Core Subject Teaching Assistant

Location: Southwark, London
Contract: Full-time, 5 days per week

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong academic background and a passion for supporting pupils to achieve their full potential?

A fantastic school in Southwark is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Core Subject Teaching Assistant to join its welcoming and supportive team. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a school setting, strong knowledge of core subjects, and a genuine commitment to helping students thrive. A degree is preferred.

• Supporting students across core subjects, including English, Maths and Science
• Providing targeted one-to-one and small-group academic support
• Working closely with teachers to help students overcome learning barriers
• Assisting with classroom activities and contributing to a positive learning environment
• Encouraging students' confidence, engagement and academic progress
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where appropriate
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar education role
• Strong subject knowledge, particularly across core subjects
• A degree is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive, proactive and supportive approach
• A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed
