Management Accountant

CMA Financial Recruitment is supporting a Portsmouth based education organisation with the recruitment of a Management Accountant for an initial six-month period. This opportunity has arisen due to internal changes and an increase in workload.

What will the Management Accountant role involve?

• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple campuses
• Analysing financial data to provide actionable insights, assisting with forecasting and budget updates that align with strategic objectives
• Collaborating with department heads and senior managers to streamline financial processes and foster proactive financial management
• Contributing to statutory financial reporting, internal and external audits, and maintaining robust financial controls
• Assisting in the delivery of financial planning activities, including cash flow management, capital expenditure reviews, and financial modelling

Suitable Candidate for the Management Accountant vacancy:

• Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or QBE
• Proven experience in management accounting, ideally within the education or public sector
• Strong numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with colleagues at all levels to explain financial information clearly
• Organised, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a fast paced environment while taking ownership of responsibilities
