Junior transport operations clerk - Freight

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Freight Transport Planner to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has experience in freight, transport, or logistics and is looking to develop a long-term career in transport planning.

This is a hands-on role where you'll learn all aspects of transport planning while also supporting our warehouse operation when required. The successful candidate will be keen to learn, adaptable, and willing to work across both office and warehouse environments.

Duties:

• Assist with planning and coordinating daily transport operations.
• Schedule vehicle collections and deliveries efficiently.
• Communicate with drivers, customers, and suppliers.
• Monitor vehicle movements and delivery progress.
• Complete transport documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Support the warehouse team with goods receiving, picking, packing, loading, and stock control when required.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
• Learn industry regulations and transport planning systems through on-the-job training.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working in freight, transport, logistics, or a similar environment.
• Is eager to build a career in transport planning.
• Is willing to learn warehouse duties and support the wider team.
• Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Can work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Is reliable, flexible, and has a positive attitude.
• Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
