Broking Manager

Our client is a well-established and respected insurance brokerage with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional service to both clients and insurer partners.

As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Broking Manager to become a key figure within the business, acting as the primary liaison between the brokerage and its insurer panel whilst supporting major client relationships and helping to drive technical excellence across the team. This is a full time, permanent role paying up to and around £65,000 plus bonus and benefits.

This is a highly visible role that combines insurer relationship management, technical broking expertise and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for an ambitious insurance professional looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role

As Broking Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening and developing insurer relationships, ensuring the business remains a valued trading partner whilst securing the best possible outcomes for clients.

You will be the key point of contact for insurers, helping to improve engagement, facilitate regular communication and identify opportunities to enhance trading performance. Alongside this, you will provide support on complex client matters, manage escalations and attend meetings with larger corporate clients where technical expertise and market knowledge are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the principal relationship manager with the insurer panel.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key insurer stakeholders.
• Improve insurer engagement and create opportunities for enhanced trading arrangements.
• Support the business in achieving profitable growth through effective market relationships.
• Handle complex and high-value broking referrals and client escalations.
• Attend meetings with larger and strategically important clients.
• Work closely with senior leadership to develop market strategy and insurer partnerships.
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal broking teams.
• Monitor insurer performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Represent the business professionally within the local and wider insurance market.

About You

You'll be a confident communicator, commercially aware and comfortable operating at a senior stakeholder level.

Requirements

• Previous experience within a commercial insurance broking environment.
• Strong knowledge of the UK insurance market.
• Established insurer relationships and market connections.
• Experience dealing with complex commercial insurance placements.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage and resolve technical client issues and escalations.
• Professional, credible and confident when engaging with senior clients and insurer partners.
• Leadership or mentoring experience would be advantageous.
