An exciting opportunity has arisen for two CAD Data Analysts to join a major rail organisation, working within its CAD function to support the quality and acceptance of CAD and engineering data supplied across a range of major contracts.
This isn't a traditional CAD drafting or design position. You'll focus on the data behind CAD and models, assessing incoming information, running validation checks and ensuring submissions meet the appropriate specifications and minimum data requirements.
You'll work closely with contractors, CAD colleagues and Information Management teams, analysing everything from file structures and metadata through to supporting evidence and data acceptance requirements. The key question you'll help answer is whether the information being supplied is compliant, consistent and usable by the next person in the information lifecycle.
Essential experience:
Nice to have:
Candidates could come from CAD, BIM, Digital Engineering, Information Management or Data Analyst backgrounds. Rail experience isn't essential, but you'll need to be comfortable working with technical and engineering information!
This could particularly suit a CAD or BIM professional looking to move away from producing drawings and models into a more data-focused position, or a Data Analyst who has experience working with technical, spatial or engineering information.
