We are seeking a dedicated Residential Conveyancer to join our Residential Property Department. This role involves managing a caseload of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion and post-completion, ensuring a high-quality, client-focused service while complying with all legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, re-mortgages, new build properties, shared ownership transactions, Help to Buy, and Right to Buy transactions.
- Handle files from initial instruction through to completion and registration.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, solicitors, and other third parties to ensure smooth transactions.
- Review contracts, title documents, searches, and mortgage offers, and prepare and issue legal documentation and reports on title.
- Provide accurate legal advice and regular updates to clients throughout the transaction.
- Ensure all transactions comply with regulatory requirements, anti-money laundering (AML) procedures, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate case records using the firm's case management system.
- Meet productivity, service level, and financial performance targets.
- Resolve client enquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
- Support business development activities and contribute to the growth of the residential property department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload.
- Strong knowledge of the residential conveyancing process and relevant property law.
- Excellent communication and client care skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Experience using conveyancing case management systems.
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
- Desirable: Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX), or experienced fee earner. Experience handling complex conveyancing transactions and knowledge of the Land Registry portal and lender requirements.
