Quality Control Technician
Location: Norwich Full-Time Temporary 3 - 6 months
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Control Technician to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. Working within the Quality Department, you will play a key role in ensuring that components, assemblies, and finished products meet stringent quality standards and engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections of purchased goods both at supplier premises and upon receipt, completing all required documentation and reports.
- Inspect in-house manufactured components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform inspections during the build process, on final assemblies, and on returned equipment.
- Conduct dimensional checks and investigations as required, recording findings accurately.
- Undertake calibration of measuring instruments, including micrometres, verniers, pressure gauges, and other precision tools.
- Maintain calibration records and procedures in line with business requirements.
- Monitor and report on temperature control within the standards room.
- Ensure all quality activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timescales.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Support the wider Quality team and undertake additional duties as reasonably required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within a Quality Control position in a manufacturing or engineering environment and be confident using a range of inspection and measurement equipment.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working in a Quality Control role.
- Experience using and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Knowledge of calibration methods for mechanical tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using a variety of measuring instruments, including:
- Internal and external micrometres
- Depth gauges
- Verniers
- Measuring equipment up to 1.5 metres
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office and business IT systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work to challenging deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
- Strong team player with a desire to contribute to business success.
Hours & Salary
- 7.45 - 4.30 Monday - Thursday 7.45 - 12.15 Friday
- £13.73 - £15 per hour
