Quality Control Technician

Location: Norwich Full-Time Temporary 3 - 6 months

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Control Technician to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. Working within the Quality Department, you will play a key role in ensuring that components, assemblies, and finished products meet stringent quality standards and engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections of purchased goods both at supplier premises and upon receipt, completing all required documentation and reports.
  • Inspect in-house manufactured components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform inspections during the build process, on final assemblies, and on returned equipment.
  • Conduct dimensional checks and investigations as required, recording findings accurately.
  • Undertake calibration of measuring instruments, including micrometres, verniers, pressure gauges, and other precision tools.
  • Maintain calibration records and procedures in line with business requirements.
  • Monitor and report on temperature control within the standards room.
  • Ensure all quality activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timescales.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Support the wider Quality team and undertake additional duties as reasonably required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience within a Quality Control position in a manufacturing or engineering environment and be confident using a range of inspection and measurement equipment.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a Quality Control role.
  • Experience using and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Knowledge of calibration methods for mechanical tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using a variety of measuring instruments, including:
    • Internal and external micrometres
    • Depth gauges
    • Verniers
    • Measuring equipment up to 1.5 metres
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office and business IT systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work to challenging deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Strong team player with a desire to contribute to business success.

Hours & Salary

  • 7.45 - 4.30 Monday - Thursday 7.45 - 12.15 Friday
  • £13.73 - £15 per hour
