Job Description

As an Employment Legal Director in Newcastle upon Tyne, you will join a growing team within a highly regarded national employment practice. You will advise a diverse client base on complex employment matters, develop strong client relationships and play a key role in business development and mentoring junior lawyers.

Description

The Employment Legal Director will be:

Providing strategic and commercially focused employment advice to a broad client base

Advising company owners, managers, HR professionals, in house lawyers and senior executives

Handling the full range of employment matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, dismissals and redundancy

Advising on complex Employment Tribunal claims, including whistleblowing and discrimination matters

Working on corporate transactions, including TUPE and restructuring matters

Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and other employment documentation

Advising clients on investigations and wider employee relations issues

Building and maintaining strong, long term client relationships

Developing relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders across the wider firm

  • Supervising junior lawyers while contributing to business development

Profile

The Employment Legal Director should be:

A solicitor with 8+ years PQE in employment law

Experienced across a broad range of contentious and non contentious employment matters

Strong technically, with experience handling Employment Tribunal claims

Experienced in advising on TUPE, restructuring, redundancy and complex employee relations matters

Commercially minded with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice to clients

Maintaining senior client relationships

Comfortable supervising and mentoring junior lawyers

Able to contribute proactively to business development and practice growth

Job Offer

  • Salary of £80,000 to £90,000
