The Opportunity

An established and growing Independent Financial Planning firm is seeking a Paraplanner to join its experienced and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience within an IFA or Financial Planning environment who is looking to further develop their technical expertise and progress their career within a professional and client-focused business.

The firm is keen to speak with experienced Paraplanners, but would also welcome applications from individuals with some paraplanning exposure who are actively working towards their Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and looking to take the next step in their career.

The successful candidate will provide technical support to Financial Advisers, undertake research and analysis, and assist in delivering high-quality financial planning solutions whilst ensuring regulatory and compliance standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Financial Advisers
  • Prepare suitability reports and client recommendation letters, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Gather, verify and analyse client information, including fact finds, policy information, valuations and cashflow modelling data.
  • Calculate Capital Gains Tax (CGT) liabilities, taking into account annual exemptions, allowable losses and asset histories
  • Undertake chargeable event gain calculations for investment bonds.
  • Liaise with providers and investment platforms to obtain policy information, quotations and up-to-date valuations.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant client records using CRM and back-office systems.
  • Support compliance processes and help ensure all advice documentation adheres to FCA requirements.
  • Manage and prioritise workloads to ensure service standards and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical queries from advisers.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of operational processes and documentation standards.
