Job Title: Alternatives Fund Accountant - Private Equity/Private Credit
Location: London (hybrid - 3 days per week)
Salary/Rate: £600-700 per day inside IR35

Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled experienced Alternatives Fund Accountant to join an established investment management environment on a 6-9 month contract. The role will focus on alternative assets, including private equity and private credit/debt, with a strong emphasis on operational fund accounting and oversight.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
- The successful candidate will have proven experience working within alternative investments, ideally with private credit experience, and will be comfortable supervising and reviewing the work of others.
- Manage and oversee day-to-day fund accounting operations across alternative investment funds.
- Work across asset classes including private equity, private credit and debt.
- Review and oversee fund accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Supervise and support junior members of the fund accounting team.
- Review NAVs, financial information, reconciliations and investor-related accounting outputs.
- Liaise with internal teams, administrators and other stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies and ensure appropriate controls are maintained.
- Support the wider team with operational and process-related matters.
- Use Investran as part of the day-to-day fund accounting environment.
- Contribute to process improvements and ensure strong operational standards are maintained.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Private credit experience is required.
- Strong alternative fund accounting experience.
- Relevant experience across private equity, private credit, debt or other alternative assets.
- Previous experience supervising or overseeing other fund accountants.
- Strong understanding of operational fund accounting processes within alternatives.
- Experience using Investran is required/preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately to deadlines.
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Operationally focused rather than highly technical - this role is suited to someone who enjoys the practical management and oversight of fund accounting activities.
